Description: The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFEIC) has issued new guidance that should cause us to re-examine our authentication approaches for customer facing applications. This presentation will explore the new FFEIC guidelines, review existing approaches to authentication, and discuss an alternative approach called Knowledge Based Authentication (KBA).

Jim is the driving force behind IDology’s technology infrastructure, information security and application development. Jim began his career serving eight years in the United States Air Force where he was a computer programmer. He has almost three decades of experience aligning technical resources with corporate goals to deliver bottom line results. Prior to joining IDology, Jim held leadership positions with LexisNexis, Siemens Energy and Automation, and Computer Sciences Corporation.
He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional and holds an MBA from Auburn University and a BS in Computer and Information Science from Troy University. Jim wrote his first computer program in FORTRAN using punch cards, in 1981, and has been hooked on software development ever since. In his spare time, he is writing iOS applications for fun and, hopefully, profit.
