We've all seen those alerts that say something like "a system upgrade this weekend may make certain features unavailable."

But this past weekend, a system upgrade at a bank made a lot more available—breaking down privacy and information security at the same time.

On Thursday, the bank tweeted about the upgrade:

Then over the weekend, customers found their own information unavailable, but some could see how much money other bank customers had. Imagine how you would feel:

If there was an "imaginary upside," SkyNews reports that one customer logged on and found an extra £13,000 had somehow been added to their account (which is the equivalent of about $18,000 US).

We doubt they were able to keep the money, because it may have been someone else's deposit.

And as of Monday, April 23rd, the bank was displaying this message on its company website

It looks like the upgrade—and the breakdown—is not over just yet.
