Demetrios Lazarikos (everyone calls him Laz) is a three-time CISO who refuses to live in the past.

He's looking at what's now and what is next and that includes the cybersecurity program you are helping to run.

Laz will kick off SecureWorld Seattle, Wednesday, November 8, with his keynote, “Building and Nurturing Your Modern Cybersecurity Risk Programs.”

So what, exactly, does a "modern risk" program look like? Well, we asked him about that.

"A modern cybersecurity program must have Board and Executive level visibility, funding, and support. The modern cybersecurity program also includes reporting on multiple topics: understanding how threats impact revenues and the company brand, sales enablement, brand protection, IP protection, and understanding cyber risk," says Laz.

"Additionally, how do I sift through the increase of cybersecurity tools that appear to be a 'silver bullet' while managing the day to day functions of my cybersecurity program?"

Laz believes there is great opportunity for InfoSec leaders right now.

Chances are increasing that you have the attention of your executive staff and the board. Now you must position your cybersecurity program for success and funding for 2018 and beyond.

This is where the rubber meets the road.

Laz says you'll walk away from his session with a sense of how you can grow your program and take advantage of the spotlight that is shining on cybersecurity.

"The modern cybersecurity program will be as critical as reporting on sales revenues (or losses) in monthly and/or quarterly reporting to Executives, the Board of Directors, investors, and partners."

Laz is a key part of the complete agenda for the two-day, Seattle Area cybersecurity conference happening in Bellevue on November 8-9, 2017. You can explore SecureWorld attendee options and register here for a day of powerful takeaways to help you secure your organization.
