Covering your tracks perfectly is tough to do unless you are perfect.

Apparently, this cyberstalking suspect is not.

The FBI busted Ryan Lin just a few days ago.

He's a computer science grad who had more than a passing knowledge of InfoSec practices.

Yet it appears it was something he knew about that actually brought him down. Something he'd even tweeted about, related to his VPN.

It kept logs of his activity.

You can read the complete 28-page affidavit here, which is both fascinating and disturbing.

Or you can read a synopsis of his downfall here

Either way, it pays to remember that covering your digital tracks perfectly is tough to do.

Unless you are perfect.
