We're down to a matter of weeks before the new GDPR rules kick in for companies doing business in the EU.

Citizens there are about to get more control over their data and privacy and it is business that has to make it happen or face fines up to 4% of company revenue.

Companies that deploy container technology needed to pay special attention to GDPR. It's the focus of our SecureWorld web conference this week, "Beyond Borders: Deploying Containers in the Age of GDPR, Defense in Depth for Security and Compliance."

Here's a quick Q&A on the topic we did with Jim DeLorenzo, of Thales, who is helping lead the web conference.

[SW] GDPR is about to hit: What does this mean for non-EU organizations doing business globally, and for enterprises deploying container technology?

[JD] "Containers that connect to, or house personal data will be in scope, meaning that data protection should be built in, and not an afterthought. Development teams will want to identify and do a mapping of all the connections between their containers and data stores where personal data resides, keeping in mind that any containers that can tap into that data should only be accessible by authorized users and processes.

[SW] What insights will attendees walk away with after hearing what you have to share in the webcast?

[JD] Attendees will gain a better understanding for how the GDPR impacts their organizations in the context of containers, as well as what steps they should be considering to prepare for the May 2018 enforcement date.

Please register for Beyond Borders: Deploying Containers in the Age of GDPR, Defense in Depth for Security and Compliance happening Wednesday March 14, 2018 at 1PM ET.

The web conference is complimentary, you can earn CPEs and most importantly, it will help you and your team prepare for GDPR.
