The latest survey we've seen indicates that about half of all companies are either starting or expanding DevOps initiatives, and Forrester declared 2018 "The Year of DevOps."

This trend seems to be increasing, thanks to the requirements of GDPR, which essentially drives organizations to ensure that security and privacy of EU citizen data is a forethought and baked right into a company's processes.

Trend Micro put together a fantastic animated infographic on this topic, titled, "Security by Design: DevOps in the Era of the GDPR." Here is the top section (below); click to see the company's post and the full infographic:

The company, which helps organizations integrate security into DevOps, shared in its post about why DevOps is so valuable:

"What’s driving this transformational change is the need for speed: innovating with the process to continually come up with scalable and quality products and services. DevOps helps identify and unblock bottlenecks through shared responsibility, increased collaboration, and automation."

Clearly, these are attributes that can help an organization accomplish its objectives efficiently and securely.
