With conservative estimates putting unfilled InfoSec openings in the U.S. at about 300,000 - something clearly needs to be done to excite students about going into cybersecurity as a career.

What if a 'Cyber Storm' Can Help Grow the Cybersecurity Workforce?

We came across an example of corporate/college collaboration that involves a final exam the students will never forget, called Cyber Storm.

Held at Louisiana Tech University, watch the short video below to learn about the final hours of the Computer Science and Cyber Engineering course that pits cyber offense vs. cyber defense and all sides against the ticking clock.

Jason Diggs, a Louisiana Tech Student, put it this way: "Cyber Storm is all about defending your network, adapting to the changes throughout the competition and also attacking the other teams when you get the opportunity."

Now that sounds exciting.
