If you have  read those self-help articles on finding your niche in the business world, you've probably stumbled upon two main pieces of advice:

  1. Identify what you are passionate about
  2. Link that passion to a problem you can help solve

Bingo—you've just found your niche.

Now let's say you are passionate about hacking websites and computer networks.

But what problem can you solve for others looking to get access to sites you have already gained illegal access to?

You can sell backdoors to help others who are less skilled get right in.

Bingo—a hacker or hackers have just found a new niche.

ZDNet talked to security researchers who have found a unique marketplace, MagBO, on a Russian hacking forum, selling access to already hacked sites.

"Access to hacked sites was done on different levels, depending on the web shell (backdoor) the sellers managed to implant on the breached site. According to MagBO's filters, a customer could buy access to:

  • PHP shell access, hosting control access, domain control access, file Transfer Protocol (FTP) access
  • Secure Socket Shell (SSH) access, Admin panel access, database or Structured Query Language (SQL) access"
Hopefully this will not be a profitable niche or else others may "find" this niche, too.
