If your computer or network suddenly slows down or is crashing more frequently, someone may have secretly installed cryptomining on the devices.

It utilizes part of your system's GPU and processing power, stealing your ability to use it and often increasing power costs as your infected computers or servers never take a break.

This crime, known as cryptojacking, can now be reported to the Federal Trade Commission.

In this case, we'll let TechRepublic do the explaining about how to report cyrptojacking to the FTC.

"The process for submitting an FTC complaint about cryptojacking can look complicated at first glance, but don't worry: It's quite simple. Head over to www.ftc.gov/complaint. Once there you'll see a list of categories to choose from."
