The numbers are staggering for information security teams that are already stretched thin.

"Depending on the organization, Med Devices and IoT can outnumber traditional computers 5: or 10:1."  As VP & CISO at Fairview Health Services, Barry Caplin is living this.

"If many, unique point solutions are required, that can easily outstrip the security team’s ability to respond. Add to that the fact that these devices are often controlled by groups outside of IT, potentially limiting visibility into processes, and we’ve really got an uphill climb."

Barry is tackling the 'Dreaded Embedded' during his session at SecureWorld Twin Cities on September 6 in Minneapolis.

"Regardless of your industry vertical, we all face similar problems.  Regardless of your skills and the skills of your team, you cannot cover everything.  Connecting with peers at these kinds of events is one of the most important things for security leaders, and future security leaders, to do," he says.

And during his session, you can expect the unexpected, along with practical insights to walk away with.

"The talk will be part fun, part practical, part rant and part solutions! I will offer some potential solutions...and dig into the Threat-Intelligence lifecycle my team has implemented.  We have a long way to go, but we have added value and are really getting the business folks to understand the value delivered by having us at the table early in the process."

Here is the complete agenda for the September 6 cybersecurity conference happening in Minneapolis. You can also explore attendee options and register here for a powerful day of takeaways that will help you secure your organization.

"We are all in this together," Barry says. "Plus, we all need a little group therapy!"

Judging from the agenda, there will be plenty of 'group therapy' on September 6 in the Twin Cities.
