Well, maybe not five seconds. But if you have ever received an "exploding job offer," a phrase used by headhunters and corporate recruiters that refers to a job offer that is retracted if it's not accepted within a short specified amount of time, you are familiar with the stress such offers can bring. What do you do? Do you jump ship or do you stay put?
