The average organization suffered from 3.8 insider attacks in 2015. Forty-five percent of businesses can’t tell if they’ve suffered a breach. The average breach goes undetected for 3-6 months before being noticed. When an attack occurs it’s usually a hacker who’s stolen the credentials from a compromised machine. In other cases it's a disgruntled employee with an axe to grind. In either instance, the threat is initiated from within the organization.

To combat insider threats, organizations need to shift their focus from the perimeter to securing their data from the inside out.
